Can you be just a side-kick?
At Garbo Bangladesh Foundation, our mission is simple. We work alongside extremely marginalized groups in Bangladesh, but we do not advocate for their missing human rights.
What is it we do then, you ask? We arm them with education, we ask them to lay claim to the basic human rights they are greatly deprived of, and we help with them as they fight to claim their status as humans in a developing society.
Don’t advocate for their human rights, they don’t need heroes. They can do it themselves if you equip them well. If you are ok with just being their side-kick, come join us!

Helping 5.5m Bangladeshi Dalits become a part of mainstream Bangladeshi society.
Arming dalit children and adults all across Bangladesh with education, asking them to lay claim to the basic human rights they are greatly deprived of, and helping with them as they fight to claim their status as humans in a developing society.
We have been running a primary school in the heart of Natore Sweeper Colony for the past 3 years, where 70 dalit children are being educated. We have several other health and community environment projects lined up awaiting funding.
Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the relief distribution process (such as winter clothing and flood relief) in Bangladesh.
Creating a Bangladesh-wide relief distribution network composed of National and Local NGOs.
In its third year of operation, Project Kombol has become a national brand for winter clothing distribution. Our network currently stretches across 35 districts, and over the past two years, more than 22,000 blankets and 4,000 winter clothes have been distributed effectively all across Bangladesh.
On 19th December 2014, Project Kombol organized one of the biggest charity concerts in the history of Bangladesh. The ticket to the concert comprised of a used winter cloth or a blanket that people want to donate!

Create a route for working children in Dhaka to join formal school.
Through transition schools set up at various locations around Dhaka, create a connection with working children and become their big brothers and sisters. Through regular guidance and training, prepare and help them join formal school.
A pilot transition school is being operated at Dhanmondi Rabindra Shohorobor every weekday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. Another transition school is being set up at Munshiganj for children in the “bede” community.
